Award-winning saxophonist plays his first Vancouver show in over 10 years!

Alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa is widely known as one of the premier voices in jazz of the 21st century and has been named alto saxophonist of the year for nine of the last eleven years running in Downbeat Magazine’s International Critics’ Polls, and for six years by the Jazz Journalists Association.

His most recent release, Hero Trio, was considered to be one of the best jazz albums of 2020 by critics and fans alike, and is the project he’ll be performing at Revue Stage on October 18, in his first Vancouver concert in over 10 years. This album features music that inspired Rudresh’s formative years as a musician, and include music by Stevie Wonder, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, June Carter Cash, and more.
