Vancouver-based Patrick Kao has been performing at clubs and festivals as a jazz guitarist — since graduating from Capilano University with a dean’s award, Patrick has been in demand as a leader and sideman in the music community, as well as a sought after educator and private instructor.
During his time at Cap, he had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with two of NYC’s most respected jazz musicians, Peter Bernstein and Renee Rosnes, as part of the Capilano A Band. Patrick also shared the stage in Daniel Hersog’s Jazz Orchestra with renowned pianist Dave Restivo, and NYC heavy-weights Nick Biello and Charlie Porter. Patrick credits a crucial part of his education to Bill Coon, Oliver Ganon and John Lee, and has since performed with Bill Coon since his days as a music student.
