This ensemble is excited to perform Franche-Nolan’s latest suite of music entitled Orbits. The suite is a musical and thematic exploration of inter-related cycles.
Noah Franche-Nolan is a Canadian pianist, improviser, and composer. He leads his own trio, is the pianist for Indo-Jazz Fusion band Raagaverse, writes for film. Andrea Wong is a sound designer and new media artist based in Vancouver and Calgary. Her practice currently explores technology, immersive experiences, and free improvisation. Adrian Avendaño is a sound artist, improvising percussionist, and recordist of Peruvian and Chilean heritage, based in Vancouver [stolen First Nation territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations].
Frankie’s After Dark takes place every Friday and Saturday at Frankie’s Jazz Club in downtown Vancouver and is curated by Tim Reinert of Infidels Jazz. Shows start at 11:00PM and tickets are $10.
