He went on to complete a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Performance and Vancouver Island University with upright bass as a secondary instrument. Busheikin has since earned a reputation as a solid rhythm section player on both upright bass and guitar. Despite moving to Vancouver in 2025, Busheikin continues to perform regularly on Vancouver Island and co-presents a monthly concert series in Nanaimo with Graham Villette. Some notable people Busheikin has had the opportunity to work with include Brad Turner, Peter Bernstein, Cory Weeds, John Lee, Bryan Stovell, Ryan Oliver, Steve Kaldestad, Ray Gallon and Miles Black.
