The sound of the John Lee Trio bridges the gap between the past and the future of modern jazz; A collective true to the “straight ahead” sound with a fresh improvisational approach on concise musical arrangements. The trio rarely features original compositions and the most prominent vessel for expression is the interpretation of a song from the Great American Songbook or a composition by a Jazz giant born in the early 20th century.
For this Frankie’s After Dark Performance John will be joined by Kosma Busheikin on bass, and Graham Villette on drums.
Frankie’s After Dark takes place every Friday and Saturday at Frankie’s Jazz Club in downtown Vancouver and is curated by Tim Reinert of Infidels Jazz. Shows start at 11:00PM and tickets are $10.
