John Paton is a saxophonist, composer and guitarist based in Vancouver, BC. He has collaborated with local and international artists including Peggy Lee, Tony Wilson, Rene Lussier, Kenny Wollesen and Han Bennink.
Composed in Dec 2019, John Paton’s Small Pleasures is a large scale work inspired by and dedicated to the Russian modernist painter Wassily Kandinsky. The work has been described as “futuristic jazz” and draws from Minimalism, 70s Rock and Classical Composition.
