Tess Meckling Quartet featuring Ben Millman, Bella Fedrigo. and Karl Dejong.

Tess Meckling is a Vancouver-based vocalist, pianist, songwriter and bandleader. Her compositions take inspiration from the Black American Music tradition (jazz), as well as classical, folk, neo-soul and pop, and she strives to blend these influences seamlessly while paying respect to each art form. A recent graduate of Capilano University’s renowned jazz and classical programs, she’s had the privilege of studying and performing with improvisatory masters such as Jennifer Scott, Steve Maddock, and Brad Turner.Tess will be joined by friends Benjamin Millman on piano, Bella Fedrigo on bass, and Karl DeJong on drums.

Jazz Arts at Chill X Studios is a new weekly Wednesday night Jazz series presented by Tim Reinert of Infidels Jazz and hosted by Chill X, an exciting new comedy club/events space in the heart of Mt. Pleasant, at 2270 Manitoba Street. This is a special event for Jazz Feeds Vancouver, in which proceeds from the event will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. In addition, opportunities will be held at the venue for you to donate as well.
