Handmade Blade features Vancouver improvisers Aram Bajakian (John Zorn, Lou Reed, Diana Krall) on guitar JP Carter (Destroyer, Dan Mangan) on trumpet and Peggy Lee ( Peggy Lee Band, Wayne Horvitz, Waxwing) on cello.

The three each contribute compositions which launch striking and explosive improvisations. This will be Handmade Blade’s First Vancouver performance in 3 years.

The New Thing is a monthly series dedicated to free jazz and improvised music. It’s co-presented by Infidels Jazz & NOW Society, and takes place at Zameen Studios (1515 Anderson Street, Granville Island) one Friday a month. Tickets are $15, or PWC.
