Clyde Reed is a pillar of the Vancouver improvised music scene. He is one of the founding members of the NOW Orchestra and has performed with Barry Guy, Leo Smith, George Lewis, Bobby Bradford, Vinny Golia, Peter Brotzmann and many leading Canadian musicians. He has performed at the Vancouver Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival, Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville, Penofin Jazz Festival (California), Bumbershoot Festival (Seattle), Earshot Jazz Festival (Seattle), Berlin Jazz Festival and the Lisbon Jazz Festival.
Clyde’s long-term musical collaborators include Bobby Bradford, Rob Blakeslee, Jared Burrows, Nikita Carter, Bruce Freedman, Vinny Golia, Rich Halley, Viviane Houle, Peggy Lee, Kenton Loewen, George Lewis, Lisa Cay Miller, Paul Plimley, Claude Ranger, Dylan van der Schyff, Ron Samworth, Carol Sawyer, Gregg Simpson, Stan Taylor, Marianne Trudel, Michael Vlatkovich, and poets Kate Braid and Daniela Elza.
For this Frankie’s After Dark he’ll be joined by long-time musical colleagues Jared Burrows on guitar, Josh Zubot on violin & special guest from Seattle, Greg Campbell on drums.
Frankie’s After Dark takes place every Friday and Saturday at Frankie’s Jazz Club in downtown Vancouver and is curated by Tim Reinert of Infidels Jazz. Shows start at 11:00PM and tickets are $10.
