SUMMARY:Open Jazz Jam with host Chris Fraser Trio at Hero's Welcome
DESCRIPTION:Infidels Jazz is proud to resume our monthly Jazz jam session which will take place Hero’s Welcome at 3917 Main Street\, one Sunday a month at 2PM. In June it will be will be held on August 17th and hosted by guitarist Chris Fraser\, bassist David Caballero & drummer Karl DeJong.\nThese will be open Jazz jam sessions\, which means that everybody from professionals to high school students will be welcome. If you’re under the age of 19\, just make sure you have a guardian of legal age with you. You can use the instruments of the house band\, but please be respectful of them.\nSundays at Hero’s Welcome (3917 Main Street) is a monthly jazz series presented by Tim Reinert of Infidels Jazz. The concept is to provide an affordable way for jazz lovers of all ages to gather and celebrate this music we love

SUMMARY:Matt Grinke's Happiest Jazz Quintet + The Jungle Book at VIFF Centre
DESCRIPTION:The Happiest Big Band on Earth had their first show on April 27\, 2018\, and was born through Matt Grinke’s love of jazz and Disney. Since then\, the Happiest band has continued to morph and shift into many different sounds and sizes\, anywhere from a trio to the full 17-piece big band\, including this quintet! \nGet Tickets\nMatt has also shifted from just a Disney fan to pianist and music director for Disney Cruise Line\, and is more than happy to arrange and perform Disney tunes even when he’s not on contract. The band’s hour-long set will be followed by a brief intermission\, and then a chance to enjoy the grooviest of the studio’s 20th century animated classics\, the original 1967 version of The Jungle Book\, featuring songs like “I Wanna Be Like You”\, “The Bare Necessities”\, and “Trust In Me”. \n
