DESCRIPTION:Vancouver’s music scene gathers to pay tribute to one of Canada’s finest pianists and composers \nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\nOne of Vancouver’s most beloved musicians\, pianist Paul Plimley passed away in May of 2022. “With a stylistic range that recalls the explosiveness and tonal freedom of Cecil Taylor as well as the introspection of Paul Bley” (AllMusic)\, Plimley’s brand of embodied passionate\, forward-thinking improv is much missed. \nSome of Vancouver’s finest improvising musicians will pay tribute to the joyful tornado of sound that was Paul.
