DESCRIPTION:One of Vancouver’s premier bass clarinetists!\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\nJohanna Hauser (Bass Clarinet) has been an integral part of Vancouver’s Improvising\, New Music\, and Classical scenes for decades\, having performed with the Dance Theater of Harlem\, Bel Canto Opera\, the Brooklyn Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra\, The Group for Contemporary Music\, The Queens Symphony and The Queens Symphony Woodwind Quintet\, and many other groups. \nFor this special New Thing performance\, she will be joined by Matthew Ariaratnam (Guitar) & Nikko Whitworth (Bass). \nThe New Thing is a monthly series dedicated to free jazz and improvised music. Joined by his accomplished friends Piyotr Kao on bass and Rick Son on drums\, the Rossouw Trio will bring a dynamic set rooted in straight ahead jazz with elements of bebop\, from swingin’ burners to intimate ballads.\nFrankie’s After Dark takes place every Friday & Saturday night at Frankie’s Jazz Club (755 Beatty) at 11PM.
