DESCRIPTION:George Garzone playing John Coltrane on the occasion of their birthdays! \nAdvance tickets are SOLD OUT for both shows. \nBoth shows will have limited standing-room-only space\, available at the door. \nGet Tickets\n\n\nBoston’s George Garzone is a giant of the contemporary saxophone\, having performed with Jazz luminaries like Joe Lovano\, Jack DeJohnette\, Kenny Barron\, Lenny White & Ingrid Jensen\, and having recorded over a dozen albums as a leader since the 1990’s.\n\n\nOn September 23rd\, he’ll be celebrating his 75th birthday\, and it’s Vancouver’s great privilege that he’s decided to spend it here\, by performing the music of one of this music’s biggest legends: John Coltrane. September 23rd would have been John Coltrane’s birthday as well\, and to mark this momentous occasion\, George will be recording a live album in Vancouver’s most historic Jazz venue: Tyrant Studios. To help George celebrate this big day\, he’s enlisted one of the Pacific Northwest’s most explosive Jazz groups\, the Jerry Steinhilber Trio.
