DESCRIPTION:Returning for his third appearance on the Frankie’s After Dark series\, Edmonton-based drummer and composer Biboye Onanuga brings a groove-forward set to Vancouver.\n\nThis evening\, Biboye invites you into a sound rooted in contemporary jazz\, but borrowing from head-nodding hip-hop loops\, and soulful neo-soul harmonies. “Today’s Jazz”. Fans of Kiefer’s beat-jazz\, and both Robert Glasper’s acoustic trio\, and experiment will feel right at home with this music. Consider this the unofficial YEBBA afterparty : )\n\nBiboye is joined by Vancouver bassist Bella Fedrigo\, and frequent hometown collaborators: pianist Brady Lloyd\, and guitarist Morgan Hanna…plus some VERY special guests!\nFrankie’s After Dark takes place every Friday & Saturday night at Frankie’s Jazz Club (755 Beatty) at 11PM.
